How do I slice an Adobe Illustrator Image to use for the web?

I recently created a webdesign template using Adobe Illustrator, and saved it for the web and devices. Now I want to slice the image so that I can add it to Adobe Dreamweaver for use on the web. What would be the best option for me to slice the image up?

If, in Adobe Illustrator, you go to Save For Web (under File) you see a slice Icon…you’re supposed to be able to just click or drag on the image and it’ll slice. BUT that doesn’t work for me–not sure why, maybe somebody else will post a better response. I found I could go to Image Ready (which you probably have if you’ve installed Photoshop) and the Slice Icon there works perfectly.
